Although I am much older than you, I have not been to nearly as many concerts as you. My first real concert was seeing the Bay City Rollers at the Boston Garden. One of my favorite early concerts was when I saw AC/DC (Back in Black tour) and had 13th row seats and went with my father when I was 13. More recently at 55, I saw HARDY several times and he really puts on an amazing hard rock show. Highly recommend seeing him! Now you have inspired me to create my own spreadsheet of concerts I’ve seen.

Somewhere I have a list of all the shows I've seen. I don't think it's nearly 1,000, though I used to go see live bands quite often when I was younger.

here's an opening act for you: I saw Van Halen opening for Peter Gabriel in 1977 in his first solo tour. Kind of a weird combo. Also Kenny Loggins opening for Al Dimeola a few years later. Talk about disparate audiences.

My favourite memories are all weird small shows. Last fall I took my kid to see a band called Good Kid play in the basement of a record shop. That was fantastic. I saw Green Day play in an alleyway in 1997, I saw REM play on the street in front of a radio station in downtown Toronto in the rain in 2001. Spoon not far from there in 2014. No ticket stubs for any of them, just low-quality YouTube videos

I was at the American Idol show at the Pru Center, and it was actually pretty good! LOL. I was a big David Cook fan at the time. On a different note, are you familiar with https://www.concertarchives.org/ ? I've been tracking all my concerts on there (I'm Livehead16), and it's been a great source of memories.

Hey! I was at the Billy Joel Bonnaroo. It’s funny how the memories stay but the catalogue of shows you’ve been to is hard to keep in mental order. I’ve been to four Bonnaroos over the last 10-12 years and I’m constantly annoying people with “I saw them at Bonnaroo” but I can never remember which friends I was with when I saw them or which year it was.

My favorite Bonnaroo memory was happening upon a band called Jeff the Brotherhood and at some point the crowd (seemingly of their own accord and all at once) threw hot dogs at the band onto the stage. The crowd must have planned it and brought them into Centeroo if not into Bonnaroo entirely. Surreal.

I’m gradually putting together all the gigs I’ve been too. I’m using setlist.fm, although some gigs aren’t there. It’s a good mental exercise and brings back memories of music and the people I went with.

How many roadies have we heard? “1-2-1-2-2-3-1-2 ...”

Started tracking how many acts I’ve seen whom you’ve seen. In this post, three: AC/DC, Blues Traveler, and Dylan.
